May 2022

7th - 'Girls Programming Network(The Girls Programming Network run by the University of Melbourne is a great way for students to meet like-minded people and develop their coding skills, regardless of their previous experience. This workshop is open to all high school students who identify as female and are interested.)

 

11th- 'Harvard Pre-College Application Deadline(This two week long summer program allows students to interact with like-minded students from around the world, learn from leading global professors and gain an insight into the Harvard experience.)

 

11th- 'Logo Design Competition(The new ARC Research Hub for Advanced Manufacturing with 2D Materials is looking for creative students to design their logo. AM2D is a place where scientists and industry will develop innovative techniques and technologies using a new class of materials. This is a great opportunity for students interested in design to have their work showcased on a global stage!)

 

April 2022

8th  - 'CAO Program Applications Close(The Crimson Access Opportunity (CAO) program was created by Crimson Education in order to provide high achieving students who need financial support with free access to Crimson’s renowned US admissions support.)

15th - 'SIG Spring Deadline (Have the opportunity to take part in some unique and high level courses like discrete mathematics, smart cities, and more! *NOTE: There is a fee associated with each course)  

 

18th - 'Girl Power in Engineering and IT Applications close(Inspire your female students about the exciting possibilities of Engineering and IT through our Girl Power program, including a three-night camp at the University of Melbourne, work experience and mentoring opportunities.)

March 2022

​2nd - 'Harvard Pre-College Program Application Deadline (Regular Decision)(This two week long summer program allows students to interact with like-minded students from around the world, learn from leading global professors and gain an insight into the Harvard experience.)

31st - 'University of Melbourne's 'Hands on Engineering & IT' Workshops Registrations Opened(Introduction to engineering and technology concepts and issues workshops for Year 10 students. Workshops run on the 20-22 April during the school holidays. Students can participate in a full free day of workshops. )

 

EOI Now Open - 'Girl Power in Engineering and IT(The Girls Power in Engineering and IT is a 4 year long program run by the University of Melbourne. It is open to 40 year 9 female students each year. The program aims to encourage young women to explore Engineering and IT study and careers. )

February 2022

16th - 'Rise - Stage 2 Deadline(Rise is a program that aims to find innovative young individuals between the ages of 15-17. The program provides successful applicants with an abundance of support and guidance in order to help them pursue their interests.)

22th - 'Experience It! - Online(Open to female school students from Years 7 – 10 from NSW & ACT, the event is a full day of experiential engineering activities organised by Engineers Australia ‘Sydney’s Women in Engineering Society’.)  

​

25th - 'Women in Tech Conference 2022 - Titanic Belfast(This empowering one-day event will gather role models who innovate, challenge and embrace technology. Inspirational women who have achieved great success within the sector and influential entrepreneurs will share stories of their journey. *NOTE: Not free)

26th - '2021-22 Harvard Summer Pre-College Program Fairs(This series of online webinars organised by Harvard provides students and their families the opportunity to learn about academic summer programs at top US colleges and universities. )

JANUARY 2022

DECEMBER 2021

Applications Now Closed - 'UMSU VCE Summer School(The VCE Summer School is a head start program for year 11 and 12 VCE students. From the 10th to the 21st of January, you will be tutored by qualified tutors and university-aged students in the skills you need to study. *NOTE - While this program is not free, financial bursaries are available.)

Every Monday from the 11th of October to the 13th of December - 'Microsoft Mondays AI Series(This partnership between 'GeekGirlAcademy' and Microsoft is a great way to begin or continue your coding and AI journey! Meet new people and develop important skills, all while having fun.) 

​

22th - 'Westpac Youth Impact Challenge(This nationwide initiative aims to help young Australians solve problems in their local communities. Participants must identify a local issue and brainstorm an innovative business or social change idea to solve it.)

​

18th  - 'The Tiny House Competition' - Submission Deadline (This challenge encourages participants to combine their interest in environmental science and design skills to create a compact, comfortable and sustainable house)

29th of November to 3rd of December - 'AWS re:Invent Conference(This conference is organised by Amazon Web Services and is great for anyone interested in computing and/or IT. *NOTE -the virtual component of the conference is free.)

NOVEMBER 2021:

24 - 'Melbourne University Artificial Intelligence in the Cinema Event(This workshop will explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in film. It will also cover public perception on this new technology and ways film can be used to help implement AI. *NOTE - places are limited so make sure you sign up soon!)

 

3rd - 'Yale Young Global Scholars - Early Action Deadline'  (This two week long summer program allows students to interact with Yale students and professors to further their knowledge in an academic area of interest. This is a great program to meet likeminded students from around the world and gain insights into the American College Experience.)

2nd - '2021 STEM Challenges'  (Organised by the Australian National University, this competition encourages students to engage in fun weekly STEM challenges.)

OCTOBER 2021:

20th - 'Global Change Award' (This competition encourages students to find sustainable solutions to fashion related problems)

20th - 'Connecting for wetlands action: An intergenerational dialogue' (This conference marked the 50 year anniversary of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and focuses on how wetlands can be better used to improve our water management system

​

20th - 'Toyota Logistic Design Competition 2021' (This competition requires participants to combine their design and engineering skills to find a more effective and sustainable ways to transport goods and services)
